Dexy’s Midnight Runners is a British band that was founded by Kevin Rowland and Kevin "Al" Archer in 1978 in Birmingham, England. The band got its name from a recreational drug called Dexedrine, which was popular at the time. Dexy Midnight Runners had a huge hit with the track Come on Eileen.
