Lesley Gore is an American pop star from the 1960s’ age of girl groups. At the age of sixteen, Lesley Gore wrote a song that would make her a household name overnight. It’s My Party went straight to the top of the US pop chart and, while she continued to chart singles in the top five, it has endured as her signature track with most recognising the song before its singer.
