Donna Summer is an American singer-songwriter and musician who is famous for her disco-inspired songs that enjoyed great success throughout this era. Gaining her impressive vocal skills from her gospel training, Donna Summer displays a fantastic vocal range, while her songwriting abilities and collaborations with different producers has helped her to rise above her musical rivals. Donna Summer was one of the most prosperous female recording artists during the 70s and 80s, and is the first female artist to have four number one singles in a twelve-month period.
