Ella Jane Fitzgerald is often referred to as the "First Lady of Song" thanks to her impressive vocal range that spans three octaves. Ella Fitzgerald’s career lasted fifty-seven years and she won thirteen Grammys in recognition of her talent as well as the National Medal of Art awarded to her by Ronald Reagan, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom given to her by George H. W. Bush.
