Hi team, I'm having trouble recording a song. I use XP Pro, and use a headset/mic combo. When I was about to record, got the screen where it asks to check the mic, and am now stumped! lol. Do I need external speakers after all? Thanks,

Hi Jordan, we really do recommend using a separate mic/speakers where possible - it gives far better quality even when using a £4.99 mic from Argos! Also, on XP where users need to perform the mic test, the mic and speakers need to be able to "hear" eachother, and this is often difficult when using in-built hardware as the mic and speakers are often placed too far apart from eachother. I expect your headset is causing difficulties - are you able to get hold of an external mic and use your computer's in-built speakers for the test? (or vice versa!) |

Hiya team, Many thanks for the reply. My lcd monitor has built in speakers, and I've managed to find a good mic. Will test them shortly, and post an update for you. Best wishes.

Andreas, it looks like you player did not install properly.First make sure you are using Firefox 3 or greater. If so take a look at the extensions (in Tools, Addons, extensions) and see if PureSolo Player V 0.9.3 is installed. You could try uninstalling it and getting the plugin again. Let us know if this helps |

Hi Betsy. Have you posted before about this issue? At which point are you getting stuck? For instance, can you record OK, but are unable to make an mp3 pf your finished recording? Or are you not able to record at all? Also, what browser are you using? (Firefox, IE7 etc). Finally, are you using built in mic and speakers, or are they built into your machine? Best, PureSolo Team |

Please try running the detection wizard again. Go to the recorder and click on 'Audio Settings' on the left. Then click on the button 'Audio Setup Wizard'. Once this is complete click on a song and run through the 'Quick Mic Check'. If you have any further problems please let us know exactly where in this process it failed. |

Hi Harriet, to clarify, are you holding your microphone right up to your speakers? Please have a look at the first thread in this forum entitled "General Issues" written by Phil. It explains things a little more clearly. Wo hope you manage to get it all working in the end. Best Wishes, PureSolo |
