It keeps asking me to synchronise my microphone.

First you need to make sure your mic is picking up sound (see "I don't think my microphone is working). If that all checks out, read on: When you go to the Record Tab, it will ask you to synchronise your microphone. Make sure your computer's sound level is at maximum. Hold your microphone next to the speakers so that it can pick up sound. Let the computer beep for a moment - it will synchronise your microphone and then take you back to your song. Hit record again, and away you go!

Hi Karen, we left you a message on your profile but never heard back from you. In order to fix the problem and get you recording we do need your cooperation because without sitting in front of your machine it's tricky to see exactly what's going wrong! During the mic test, if you tap on the mic or sing into it, do the indicator bars move to show that it is picking up sound? It's an obvious question but we have to rule out the obvious things first!

If your mic is picking up sound, please try this: Go to the Audio Settings page, located on the "Record" page on the left hand site. Ensure that you have 'Direct Sound' selected as audio device type. If you're using a USB mic, make sure you have specified this in the 'input' menu. Also make sure you have your external speakers selected in the 'output' menu. Normally it's one of these settings being wrong which causes the problems, so fingers crossed this will it. PureSolo Team.

Hi Freya. Karen did get it working in the end, although she didn't let us know which setting was wrong. I would suspect she followed our advice regarding the audio settings. If you're having problems, please go to the 'Record' tab and click the 'Audio Settings' link on the left. There's a big button called "Audio Set Up Wizard". Click it and follow the instructions to ensure you have the correct input and output selected. Then try to record once again. The mic test will then work.

Just had a listen to your recordings to see about this underwater sound and I think it is simply a case of the levels needing some adjustment. Turn the mic level down a little to stop the sound distorting in the louder notes. The echo you're getting is because you have the highest level of reverb selected :) Try saving your next recording with less reverb and it will sound great.

Thankyou Blodwen, the underwater sound dont seem so bad but am getting a lot of crackling now. Ive read the replies regarding change the latency to 1000 but i cant see where you are supposed to change that. Regards Karen

Hi Karen, to change your latency settings, go the the Recorder, then on the left of the page there's a small link called "Audio Settings" - click it, then on the resulting page, click "Advanced settings". You should then be able to adjust your latency. Let me know if you need any help.
