Hi Freya, can you try the test again but hold the mic really close to the speakers - so they're almost touching. It won't pick up the mic straight away, it'll take a few moments to recognise the mic. Kindest, Aimee

nope it just says no signal detected with a strange static noise which goes off every 5 secs or so .. any other suggestions ? I held the mic right next to the speakers

good luck with this Freya. I have been harping on about it for weeks as did several people before me. Puresolo don't seem to have the answer. I hope you haven't spent a lot of money!

Hi Freya, the static noise you're hearing is played through your speakers purposely for your microphone to pick up. It's a latency test we run for Windows XP users and measures the time it takes to output sound from the speakers, back into the mic and your computer. Please do make sure that the mic is right in front of the speakers, practically touching them whilst the static noise is playing. Also, check that you have the correct mic selected in your audio settings (this can be found in the 'Record' tab). We have had customers in the past whereby they haven't realised they had a mic built into their computer or webcam and therefore had the wrong microphone selected. As PureSolo is such a powerful piece of software, unfortunately some operating systems (such as 10 years old Windows XP) will not provide the best experience. Can you try the Audio Setup Wizard - found in the 'Record' tab and let us know how you get on please? Kindest, Aimee

My mic wont pick up the signal either, the mic and speaker volumes are at their highest and my mic is practically touching the speaker. If this is about how to mix the vocals and backing track so its recorded at the same time because XP is slower or something then cant we do it manually?
when the music is played and I sing into the mic it comes out at the same time, but it asks for the mic test when I want to record. If it records singing at a different time to the track could you make a way for us to mix them from a different starting point, like drag music and vocals to the right place, if you know what I mean?

Thankyou

Hey guys, if your computer is playing the mic through the speakers generally, then go on volume control, options, properties, and make sure microphone is clicked, then turn it all the way down, so you cant hear it when you speak through it, except the website picks it up. :D
