The Stage - Musical Vocalist Competition

First Prize:

Record as a featured vocalist on the forthcoming Silva Screen Album "The 100 Greatest Musicals" and appear alongside David Shannon, Dave Willetts and Lesley Garrett*

Runner Up Prizes:

First runner up gets a £50.00 credit to purchase content from the Silva Screen Catalogue and the other 8 runners up receive £20.00 of credit for the same catalogue. (Plus, all runners-up get a copy of the 100 Greatest Musicals CD when released).

Entries will be accepted between April 22nd 2010 at 12:00 GMT and June 10th 2010 at 18:00 GMT.

Judging: Two Exciting Stages:

The PureSolo Community will vote for their favourite entries using the 1-5 online 'Love' voting system from April 22nd through to June 18th.
The Top 10, as voted for by the community, will then be judged by a panel including Scott Matthewman (Assistant Editor of The Stage) and Rick Clark (Silva Screen Records) - the eventual winner to be announced by The Stage by June 30th 2010.

Rules

PLEASE NOTE VERY CAREFULLY THAT THESE CONTEST RULES ARE SPECIFIC TO THIS CONTEST (AND NO OTHER CONTEST). IN ADDITION, YOU MUST ALSO CAREFULLY READ ALL OF PURE SOLO'S TERMS AND CONDITIONS INCLUDING THE SECTION ON CONTESTS. THOSE TERMS AND COMPETITIONS (TOGETHER WITH THESE CONTEST RULES) GOVERN THE RULES OF THIS COMPETITION (AND OTHER MATTERS CONCERNING PURE SOLO'S WEBSITE, YOUR USE OF IT AND YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THIS COMPETITION.

The competition is run jointly by The Stage Newspaper Limited, Pure Solo Limited and Silva Screen Records (the organisers).
Entrants to the competition must be individuals aged over 16 (proof of age will be required) within UK and European territories (not open in the USA and other territories due to licensing restrictions).
In order to enter the competition, individuals must register and be signed in to the PureSolo website.
Entries are by upload (using the 'Share It' button) of the entrants own recording of their voice onto one or more of the 3 male or 3 female eligible tracks. Each eligible tracks costs £1.49 and can be re-recorded an infinite number of times once purchased.
Video recordings are not eligible (presently in Beta with limited users only) for this competition – stay tuned for future video based competitions.
Entries will be accepted between April 22nd 2010 at 12:00 GMT and June 10th 2010 at 18:00 GMT.
All shared recordings (using the 'Share It' button) of eligible tracks will be automatically entered into the competition (subject to territory licensing) as well as being displayed on your profile.
Entrants can submit multiple competition entries of eligible tracks but, in the case of multiple versions of the same song being entered, votes cannot be transferred from one entry to another. An excessive level of multiple entries may lead to disqualification if the organisers deem it necessary.
A shortlist of 10 entries will be determined by votes cast by registered users of the PureSolo website between April 22nd 2010 at 12:00 GMT and June 18th 2010 at 12:00 GMT.
The PureSolo community votes using the PureSolo ‘Love’ voting system. Choices are 1-5, with 5 being the highest ranking. Voter must be logged in, in order to vote. Voters get to vote for any PureSoloist once and cannot vote for themselves. New or less active users may be required to click on a confirmation email to confirm validity.
The winner and runners up will be chosen by an expert panel appointed by the organisers from the top 10 entrants with the highest 'Love' rankings as awarded by the community (subject to proof of eligibility).
The prize is non-transferrable, changeable, or refundable and no cash alternative will be offered.
Competitions are not open to PureSolo employees, or employees of its affiliated companies and subsidiaries, nor to any sponsors of the contest, or the immediate families of such employees or sponsors.
By submitting an entry to any Competition, you grant Pure Solo the right to use your name and likeness for advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation and you agree to participate in any reasonable promotional activities requested by PureSolo or the sponsor of the Competition.
Entrants who do not comply fully with the requirements for Competition winners as outlined above, may be disqualified as a winner and an alternative winner may be selected.
Competition winners are solely responsible for all insurance, applicable taxes and for any expenses not specified in the prize description.
Shortlisted entries will be notified by email and must respond by June 22nd 2010 at 12:00 noon GMT.
A list of 4 runners up may be kept and may be notified up to July 7th 2010 at 12:00 noon GMT in the event the winner fails to claim the top prize.
The prize must be claimed by July 31st 2010 and the date of the recording is subject to studio availability.
The organisers are not responsible for undelivered emails.
Terms and Conditions

Display methodology:

Uploaded tracks will be displayed on the competition pages in the following categories:

Current Leaders – the Top 5 will be displayed.
Recent Entries – as they are uploaded.
All Entries – these are sorted and re-sorted on a random basis to ensure fair representation of all entries.
